To help raise awareness for Pink Shirt Day and as part of its commitment to taking a stand against bullying, Toys“R”Us has given away more than 8,000 pink “Bullying Stops Here” t-shirts to kids across Canada on Saturday, February 17.

When Life Gives You Lemons: 5 Ways To Take Care of YOU

I'm no stranger to drama-rama in life, you guys. I'm sure in adulthood almost all of us can say the same. Next month I'll be *deep breath* 37... Heyooooo, that's "late 30s" but guess what? I am so HERE FOR IT! After a pretty tumultuous few years, I'm now able to take some time and focus on myself and what's best for my family.

That means I'm taking time to look after my mind, my inner spiritual side and my body, too. Here are my top 5 favourite ways to spend a little ME time. I encourage you to take a look at this list and see what you can incorporate into your life. Even a few minutes every day will reap the reward of a positive outlook and a calm mind.  See for yourself!

1.  Try Meditation. Find a quiet area in your home to sit and rest your mind. Hey parents, if that means hiding in your walk-in closet for 10, I say go for it. (Speaking from experience, here.) There are tons of apps and podcasts available for guided meditation. Just do a quick search in your app store! I like Omvana, myself.

2.  Go for a Walk. Get outdoors! Even in the winter, whether it's Winnipeg-cold or not, a bit of fresh air will help you to clear your head and feel re-energized. Take some time with or without your family to get active outside and enjoy the sunshine. We all need that vitamin D! Just remember to dress for the weather - no need to be a hero.

3. Workout. I'm not going to pretend to be a gym rat you guys, but I will 100% vouch for what a little bit of exercise can do to improve stress levels. Whether you choose Yoga, weights or running any form of exercise is better than none. I've been using Asana Rebel app lately and I LOVE the fresh workouts the app provides. Try it out for yourself!

4. Take your Daily Vitamins. Do you know what's worse than cold and flu season? Not getting the nutrition your body needs to fight off viruses during cold and flu season! Taking a multi-vitamin can do wonders for your immune system. I've found this to be more effective at warding off sickness than getting the flu shot. I love taking Core Essentials as it fills nutrition gaps and provides your omegas as well. It's an all in one!

5. Read a Book.  I'm as guilty as anyone for not taking time out of my day to read, which is sad because it's something I really love to do! Since I was a child, picking up a book was my favourite escape and way to relax. There's nothing better than reading outside in the summer, or cuddling up with a book, a fleecy blanket and a cup of coffee on a cold evening. I'm currently reading Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's actually my second time reading this book and I ADORE it. Highly recommend!

I hope these ideas help you to feel your best. What are your favourite ways to relax?

Disney Lady And The Tramp DVD/Blu-Ray GIVEAWAY #Canada

I remember watching Disney's Lady & The Tramp in my childhood. It shames me to say that my kids haven't seen it, but that's all about to change with the release of this classic film on DVD and Blu-ray on February 27, 2018.

Spaghetti scene, anyone? *collective awwwww*

Lucky for you I have a copy to give away to one of my Canadian readers!  What a fun way to launch my new blog.

I'll keep the entry method simple this time.  Just comment below with who you'll share this special prize with. (If you're feeling chatty, tell me what your favourite Disney movie is too! Mine is Lilo & Stitch.)

Contest is open to residents of Canada until Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Winner will be notified by email.

Good Luck!

Welcome!

Well now... It has been some time since I've had the privilege and pleasure of beginning a new blog. I was formerly the author (and founder) of a successful Canadian parenting blog called Born 2 Be Mom. For 8 years I poured my heart and soul into that website and it was an amazing experience!  I was able to work with some incredible national and international brands, get to know some beautiful people and of course share my parenting struggles with the masses. I loved it - but it was time for a change.

My kids are growing up!  They are now 9 and 6 years of age; meaning while I once enjoyed the opportunity to conduct product reviews on items like play yards, diaper disposal systems, baby toys and training pants... Guess what?  My littles are waaaaay beyond done with that stuff!  They're more into things like pokemon, science projects, youtube videos, and Taylor Swift. Yeesh! Where does the time go, right?

My life has changed significantly since then, too. I'm now a part-time student, aiming to begin a new career path within the next 6 months or so. I'm also a single parent now, which to be truthful has been a beautiful and difficult journey all at once. I'll tell you about it sometime. And I've been given the gift of time to focus on things like personal growth, wellness and inner peace. (Do any of you meditate? It is such an amazing practice which I highly recommend.)

These are all things I look forward to sharing with YOU!

I can not wait to get started.
